When would DS start reception?

Can someone tell me please when DS would start at school? I don't have any clue when I would have to apply for him, only that I guess it's a lot sooner than I'd expect as he's summer born. Have tried googling but can't get anywhere. He was born late July 2011.

If you in England won't it be September after his 4th birthday unless your school still does an Easter intake?

He would start in September 2015 in England, and you would apply this coming autumn.
