In-year transfer and waiting list?

Could you pls advise as this is my first time to do this.

I have a son, born in 2009, who is in Reception class now. His school is our second choice and we are still on the waiting list of another 'preferred' school.

As you know, at the end of the term, you have to fill in the in-year transfer form so that your child is kept in the waiting list.

That is the official procedure. Is there anything else you can do to increase your child's place in the waiting list?

My sincere thanks,

It is not the case everywhere that people have to fill in a form to stay on the waiting list. Many places leave you on the waiting list indefinitely.

Your position on the waiting list is determined entirely by the school's admission criteria. For most schools the only way you can move up the waiting list is to move closer to the school.
