Well, not quite the same, but I'm really sad about me going back to school tomorrow and dd going back to nursery. :( I'll miss her.

TheNightIsDark · 05/01/2014 23:01

Nope. Another day and they would have killed each other or ganged up on me.

BadRoly · 05/01/2014 23:02

Yes, even though they have wound me up beyond all belief today Grin. I like having my dc at home but not enough to home ed them

Devora · 05/01/2014 23:03

Yes! I work FT and the time we spend together is precious.

500internalerror · 05/01/2014 23:03

exactly my sentiments badroly Grin

Devora · 05/01/2014 23:04

Even though dd1 spent the entire holiday playing Minecraft and practising preteen backchat, and dd2 was bouncing off the walls after the first thousand years of torrential rain.

ICutMyFootOnOccamsRazor · 05/01/2014 23:04

No, can't wait to go back to work for a rest Grin.

Although ask me again tomorrow at 8.00 when I am sitting in the office facing a week's worth of accumulated stuff to plough through.

princessalbert · 05/01/2014 23:07

well, DS isn't in primary, but yes. I have enjoyed all the lie-ins. Ds is in Y11 - but I still like to get up and wave him off.

We are both still sat up watching tv. He will be bleary eyed in the morning ..sigh.

nonicknameseemsavailable · 06/01/2014 00:02

yes. I would love to home ed and have them at home with me.

EatDessertFirst · 06/01/2014 07:29

I'm with TheNightIsDark on this one!!

In fairness, DD herself is really looking forward to getting back to school. DS starts part-time nursery today so its a big day for us all.

Hope everyone has a good first day back.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 06/01/2014 07:31

Yes and no, I've had a fortnight off work too, will miss the DCs and the lazy mornings but part of me longs to get back into some sort of routine now.

jwpetal · 06/01/2014 12:16

I am sad that all 3 is going back. We had a nice time together even with the rain and our house as a building site.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 06/01/2014 12:19

Yes, I love having DD1 around and DD2 is wandering lonely as a cloud today. She'll get used to her being gone again but is finding it hard.

Back2Basics · 06/01/2014 12:21

Dc went back today and I got back to work tomorrow. Happy for them to go back but I really don't want to go back Sad

If only I could afford to be a sahm with school age children...

Damnautocorrect · 06/01/2014 14:06

Yep super sad I've lost my buddy Sad:

princesspiss · 06/01/2014 14:07

nope. not even a little bit. lol

Danann · 06/01/2014 21:54

Nope, DD isn't back til Wednesday and we had a full blown tantrum this morning because it isn't fair that DS got to go to school today and she didn't and being at home is so very boring without her friends.

Bitlost · 06/01/2014 22:28

Yes, dd made me laugh so much over Christmas.

CaisleanDraiochta · 06/01/2014 22:29

Yes though I can't admit it in real life for fear of the crazy looks I'd get.

I'd love to pull them out of school to Home Ed but I'm not that brave and would probably mess it up. Still it can't be worse than DD's first day back today......

pointythings · 06/01/2014 22:32

Nope, we're ready for normality. And it is only 6 weeks until half term.

MirandaWest · 06/01/2014 22:34

I'm going to miss them tomorrow. Am going soft I suspect.

Showy · 06/01/2014 23:13

I'm feeling particularly sad about it this time round. We were all ill over Christmas and I don't feel I've made the most of dd during the holidays. I really miss her when she's at school. I wish I could home ed too but it wouldn't be right for dd.

ViviDeBeauvoir · 06/01/2014 23:24

Yes.

I'll really miss DD when she goes back tomorrow.
She's in reception and I feel like we got our closeness back these holidays (she's been tired/ill/etc quite a bit but we had fantastic time together over Christmas).
Pretty sure her brothers will miss her too. Plus I have to go back to work after maternity leave on Wednesday. Sad

Galena · 07/01/2014 11:48

Not really - I know she loves it and I've got far too many jobs to do around the house which I can't get done when she's home. It will also give my ears a rest as she talks non-stop when she's home!
