Does anyone use any good educational games or programmes online with their kids? My DD (10) is always asking to go on the computer and I want to make sure that it is something productive and not just mindless games.
PLEASE HELP.

We use mathletics and reading eggs. but its all about moderation, I also allow mindless games as children do need down time.

DD1 is 8 and has been using bbc bitesize, cbbc, khan academy and pbs kids all free and good mix of fun and education.

It is funny how every child is different my dcs never like any online educational games while others seem to have so much successes with internet tuitions paid or unpaid. Mine love educational tv programs (as well as many other rubbish ones).

Would also agree with Mathletics, dd loves the challenge.
BBC Bitesize is also popular as is cbbc fun and games, all free except Mathletics.

Just the normal cbbc ones such operation ouch, deadly 60, horrible history, cbbc news round, and occasionally, bbc documentary programs and normal news etc. My 10 yr old dd really like these programs and she talks about them with her friends in school. So nothing particularly special.

By the way First News website is quite interesting too.
