Schools in Maidenhead

We are hoping to move to the area this year. We haven't found anything to buy yet but have started looking at schools for my eldest ds.
I have heard of Furze Platt and Alwyn- but not sure what they're like.
He is in reception already so would need a mid year transfer. Not sure if these schools would have spaces now.
Any info gratefully received!Smile

Maidenhead is struggling with a lack of primary school places - check the Maidenhead Advertiser online for reports of plans to expand various schools. If you contact the Town Hall they should be able to tell you which schools actually have places - then you can look at them and decide if you'd want to send your DS there. Maidenhead has some extremely good schools, and ones that I'd sell a kidney to avoid sending my child to. But as I was once told by a vary wise retired Deputy Head, there's no such thing as a good or bad school - it's a good or bad school for your child.
