I've got a Year 2 class in Sept and will be doing all sorts of wonderful phonicy type stuff!!

I've looked on amazon for a good photocopiable book but not really getting anywhere.

Any that you REALLY recommend??

Our school use Jolly Phonics system and the handbook from that is somewhat useful - with photocopiables in the back (some games, some word lists, the actual digraphs, etc).
I will be watching this one though as I have Y1 in Sept.!

Our school started the jolly phonics programme this year so the Year 1s will have used it but not my year 2s.

I suppose it'll do them all good tho anyway.

Hopefully we'll both get some extra ideas from some phonic experts eh?!

Hi incognitodontyouknow,

I'm a real fan of jolly phonics, it's great for all abilities as covers all learning styles, it's especially good for SEN.

The BBC words and pictures site has some great year 2 phonics stuff that you could do on-line - Great cross-curricular link
or it has print and do activities!

I'm new to mumsnet, only just discovered it and my dd is now 6 months, back to school in september!
I'll try and do the link, but remember i'm new to all this!!

have a look at this

hope this helps.

At my school we use the jolly grammer book which follows on from jolly phonics - it comes in 2 boosk - book 1 for year 1 and 2 for year 2.

Thanks for those - especially that link Possumhead.

I know it's sad sorting out sept already but we had a non-pupil day yesterday so it doesn't actually feel like the holidays quite yet!!!

I used to have a good photocopiable book.

Let me have a look...

Just thought of other books that i find quite useful.
Developing literacy - they are per year group and split into text level, sentence level, word level, speaking and listening etc.
The developing literacy word level for year 2 would be handy, lots of phonics type stuff and all photocopiable.
I've got my own set of these books year 1 - year 4!!!! Sad eh?? They are hiding in the loft at mo, but will need to get them down before too much longer for return to work in sept !!
