Good primaries in Bucks - state or private

We are soon to move to Bucks from London - hopefully to Amersham/Chesham/Chalfonts/Chorleywood/Gt Missenden or thereabouts.
Which are the good primaries, state or private, in those areas? And how difficult is it to get in. My DD will start in Sept 07. Thanks for your help - much appreciated. Oh, and any views on which areas are nice to live in would be great. Thanks.

hah, what you need is the help of flashingnose
she's not only local now with sch-age kids but also was brought up in the area and is extremely knowledgeable on this subject!
If you shout loud enough, i'm sure she'll come to your rescue if she's not immersed in study/work somewhere!
oh, also rec you contact bucks/s.bucks council for a list of schools and cd also buy sun telegraph guide to commuterland on where to live.
HTH?

MissChief, that's great. Flashingnose, are you there? Thanks to both of you.

I was brought up in Little Chalfont and went to Little Chalfont County Combined School.
This was a fantastic school then and apparently still is now. Rumour has it you need to be on the list when conceived (!) but worth ringing to find out.
