SAT's results not published

Ds's school always features in the top 5 in the league tables for SAT's, the head is always very keen to shout this from the roof tops, despite not agreeing with SAT's Hmm
This year the school is at the bottom with all the results marked as 0%, why might this be?

Is it a small school? SATs results are not published if the number of children in Y6 is very low. The only other reason I can think of is if the tests were boycotted.

My friends school had no SATs results last year because there were allegations of cheating. Which were upheld.

Impossible - this happened in 2010 only because the schools that did had legal backing from unions.

Sounds like malpractice, so results were wiped, but would have thought you would have heard about it by now.

The tests were taken and it is a 30 per year group school.
Cheating is interesting, I wonder if that's the case?

In my friends school, the parents didn't find out fir a couple of weeks after the results weren't published. It was assumed that it was a mistake.

In the meantime the school of course knew thst they weren't going to get the results.

Could the school have asked for the results not to be published? or maybe asked themselves for them to be looked at again?

No, you can't ask for results to be withheld from publication. You can ask for re-marking but that would be over and done with now, even if they were STILL arguing about the results, then unvalidated data would be published ( ie we can't agree but this is what we think!). So I suspect something underhand has gone on!

I would say maladministration as well.

This has happened at a school near us. The results were withheld by the DFE for cheating. This is the only possible explanation, I would think.

Are you brave enough to ask the school why, OP? Wouldn't that be shocking if they had cheated!

If a cohort is too small for their results to be published it will say "Supp" for suppressed rather than 0%. I've never heard of a school getting 0% before so something fishy is definitely going on!

Yes, it isn't that school, I think I may approach the school tomorrow and casually ask about the results (or lack of)

A school in our vicinity has had its results quashed for cheating this year (also a 'top' school).

But that was all over the local news so you know about it if it was them.

It isnt any of the schools posted and there is nothing to be found on google or in the press, it is definately 0% across the board so I can't understand why?

there were 25 schools who had their results annulled - as per the BBC link
ask the school and ask Ofsted

I just called the school office and have been told it's down to 'marking issues' and rather than putting out incomplete results it has gone down as 0%.
What do you think?
