My DC use this school's website a lot for research etc - it comes up high on google searches. I had a look at the school info and it sounds like an excellent school. Out of interest, does anyone have a DC who goes there, and why does the school make all the resources available - what is in it for the school?

My DC aren't at Woodlands but I know someone who works there, they put the stuff on the website so their students can use it for homework.

I've often wondered this! Their site is amazing, i actually use it more than google for looking up resources for the DC!

I live down the road from it and am in catchment area for it but decided to send my kids to another school! Catholic one, mainly for that reason. It is a nice school but really nothing out of the ordinary. My ds goes to the pre school in the school grounds.

There is nothing in it for the school to make all their stuff available, just kudos , i guess.

:) birdybear, I think DS and my little brothers and sisters are at the same school as your kids, for the same reason. Tonbridge is pretty lucky with its primary schools tbh, DD's at school in Maidstone and the primary schools here are nowhere near as good!

Personally I don't think the site is particularly good as it is just articles copied from other sites.

What it does have going for it is that it is a one stop shop for the information.

On the minus side it is a potential copyright infringement nightmare.

Not just within the UK - I'm a translator and need to research all sorts of things. Amazing how often Woodlands Primary crops up on search results.
