Hi there! Can anyone advise which primary schools on the Isle of Man are considered the best? Either State or Independent. Thank you very much.

I have no personal experience of the Isle of Man but have formed the impression that the general standard of schooling is very high, and so far as I know there is (as a partial consequence?) very limited independent sector.

Unlike England they do not use SATs, so no league tables, and admissions is fixed catchment based, so in general the school your child goes to is determined by where you live. The sole exception to this is the (single) school that teachs through the medium of Manx.

Instead of OfSted they use a system of external consultant based school improvement.
