I am new to Bromley and I am considering following three schools for primary education of my DS:

  1. Clarehouse
  2. Highfield
  3. Valley Primary School

I am not sure about positive and negative points of these schools so would highly appreciate if someone can throw their views on what is positive and negative about these schools.
Appreciate your help and time.

I don't know any of these but my very fussy friend was torn between Valley and Parish. I think Parish won because of better outdoor space, at least that was one of the pluses for Parish.

valley must have a tiny catchment. They took on bulge classes but I heard that they will revert back to 2 form entry so you may want to check this with the school.

Have a friend whose daughter is at Highfield and it sounds amazing. As with all of your choices, you need to live on the doorstep.

Clare house is very good. However you need to be close to stand a chance of getting in!

Valley is an acadamy as well. There is a huge pressure to convert most primaries and ours looked into it as well but stopped the process so far.

I think most good or outstanding schools will convert voluntarily in the next years and the "in need of improvement" won't have lots of choice.

I think that Valley and Highfield (and actually, I thought Clare House too) have converted to Academies under their own little Academy consortium. Basically, I believe that all schools in Bromley have to convert to Academy status. Even if one hasn't now, it will very probably be in the pipeline for the future.

I have heard great things about Valley but you do need to live virtually in the playground. I am afraid I know nothing about the other two.
