If you change school during reception do you get a transfer form?

DS left his school on Friday. He starts a new one next Monday. Just emailed old school as they asked for confirmation he was leaving. I also asked for DS's transfer form as all the ones I've seen have a bit for parent comments. Also I'm nosey and want to see where they assessed him as being so I can check the new school are getting all the info.

Apparently I can't have his transfer form as it's sent electronically to his new school. Surely if it relates to my son then I can bloody see it?!

Its sent across to the new school as a CTF (I sound like I know what that is but I'm not really sure!). Its just a management system transfer of his pupil number. There'll then be a phone conversation about your DS & maybe the school will send across his pupil profile (unless its an online version).
We don't give things to our parents - too much chance of them going missing in transit!

You are allowed to see anything relating to your dc, however you have to give them notice that you want to see it. Not sure how much though sorry.
No doubt somebody will be along who knows about admissions.

As a teacher with several new pupils in her class this term ... I'd be delighted to receive any info, by any route! I've had levels and copies of old reports for one. Not a squeak for the others!

I have emailed and asked for a copy to be forwarded to myself and the new school. We have had so many issues with the school I'm a bit wary of what they have put about him!

I didn't get anything. I rang on the Thursday morning 10 minutes after I was offered the place, took her to look round and to sign the forms with the new school on the Friday and she started on the Monday morning...

I was rather surprised that all I had to do was to ring up and say she was leaving and that was all.
