comprehension/book review

Hello, I posted this and didn't get any replies so have re written.

My dd and her friend are reading the same book for a week and then reviewing/discussing.
They are both y5 age. DD is H.ed but her friend is school.
I thought it would be good to follow what they do at school for dds friends sake but not sure what detail to expect them to go into as I would prompt them.
DDs friends mum has asked her to do this with my dd as she thinks she needs practice here.
So what do teachers do at school, bearing in mind there are only the 2 of them, not a class

Might it be worth while investing in something like this?

It was just really a little activity to let them practice a bit. Nothing too formal, but just thought for sake of friend would tie in with same type of thing school would do.
