Does anyone know anything about Language Link?

My daughter is in reception and came home tonight with a letter saying that as of term 2, she will be part of a small language group who will meet twice a week for 30 minutes, to work with a HLTA to focus on following instructions.. They have attached a leaflet to the letter explaining that the school is using a package called Language Link to help identify and support children with difficulty understanding spoken language. I know (cos she told me, not the school) that a little whole class had been taken out in groups to take a test a few weeks ago which I presume was the basis for this assessment. I am really confused and upset by this and the school is closed now until the end of half term. Does it mean they have assessed her as having a developmental delay? My husband and I have discussed at length and we are not aware that she does have any sort of delay (she has been at nursery and with childminders and has always scored in her age group or above on the EYFS, talked quite early, has a large vocabulary and as far as we are concerned can express herself really well). I am not really happy with her being taken out of class in a small group and am going to ask to see the Deputy Head (who the letter was from) on the first day back to identify what the issue is. If she does need any extra help, I want her to get it of course, but if I disagree - can I refuse that she take part? I know from a couple of mums I am friendly from her class that their child did not receive the same letter so it's obviously not addressed to the whole class. If anyone had more information it would be much appreciated!

Language Link is a computer based test usually carried out early in reception year.
