Kids Britannica or similar?

DD is 7 and keen to do a lot of projects investigating all sorts of things, from stars to dance to trees to time. Everything. She is allowed to use a computer for an hour a day, but I use MS Family Safety to ensure she can only access certain white-listed websites.

I don't want to free up the internet yet, so google is not an option. There's a Britannica Kids, but it's £50 a year. I'm happy to pay that if it's worth it.

Does anyone know any wide-ranging, fun and informative websites out there?

Thanks in advance

Hi

I know it is old fashioned but for my dd of a similar age we still take her to the library and borrow age appropriate children's reference books. The library will order things in for her too if they don't have much on a topic. we have also bought some good value non fiction books in smiths
