Moving to Claygate

We're going to be moving to claygate very soon and I've just has an attack of nerves about primary school places.

DS1 is 3.5 and will be starting reception next year. I had assumed that he would probably get a place at claygate primary school as it will be the closest school to us but I'm unfamiliar with the application/catchment processes and might be being naive.

Does anyone know what other schools ds might be going to, if not claygate primary? We'll Beijing to very close to claygate station, if that helps with cut off points etc.

If he is due to start school in September 2014 then you will have to apply for a reception place by the middle (I think) of January.

When will you be moving? You will need to provide evidence of your permanent address.

You might be a bit tight - 2012 non-siblings went to 0.9km. 2013 went to 2013, but had a bulge class. Slight risk that the 2013 bulge class might mean a slightly higher than normal number of siblings applying.

I'd have thought even if you didn't get Claygate first time round you'd get in off the waiting list though.

Not sure where you'd be allocated though if not Claygate.

Sorry 2013 intake went to 3km...

We're hoping to exchange this week haven't left it too late to consider schools at all so should be in by November.

Eep, had really thought it would be a shoe-in.
