DFE witholding Ks2 test results

Parents at a local school have been informed that the DFE are withholding the 2013 KS2 test results and that the school is appealing this decision.

Obviously very stressful for all concerned. What possible reason could there be for this (I assume some evidence of maladministration is the like)?

Does anyone know of any schools that have been successful in appealing this?

Has no-one else come across this before?

See, for example, this.

How awful that this system pressurises teachers and schools to this extent. Although it won't affect the education of the children who have now gone to secondary school, it must be so stressful for the teachers and is certainly very unsettling for the parents at one of our local schools.

Don't you mean how awful schools/teachers do this? What an example to set to our children!!

Amazing lack of integrity if true

Poor kids

I agree it's an appalling example to set to children although I feel quite detached as it's not my children's school.

I do sort of think that people don't go into teaching with a view to fiddling the stats a few years down the line.

For the record, I'd say that Michael Give's attack of the profession is a far worse example to set our children.
