Yesterday morning I was 5 mins late dropping DD1 off, so we went to Reception to get a late mark. I know one of the women who works there, because shes been there since I was a child and attending that school.

I posted y'day about my agony with my tooth (need surgery at hospital to remove two of my teeth) and thats why I was late.

"Mummy needs an alarm clock for Christmas" she says.
I scowled. "I've been awake since 5am."
"Why on earth are you late then?"
"None of your fucking business?!" "Because Ive been awake all night in agony with my teeth? The painkillers I have make me dopey? We're 5 minutes late, for the first time this school year."

This morning, walking across the playground, the year 2 kids were also walking across. I slowed the pushchair down so I didnt walk into them. Not before another receptionist jumped in front of me and said, rudely "watch the children!" Took all I had not to ram my pushchair into the back of her legs.

Only possible reply is "Why? Are they going to do tricks?"
Sorry to hear about your teeth, just look after yourself and ignore the sarkie receptionists Wine

You get one comment or issue - you brush it off. You get the second and you think hmmmm, but then brush it off. Third time is now too many, so you start making a list of 'events'. That is what I did. It soon grew, and you begin to realise that all the little 'events' soon mount up. That was two years ago. Good ammo if you need to use it at somepoint.

DD has been there since F1 - shes now Y1 - and Ive lost count at the amount of annoying things they've said to me.

I feel your pain!

(though not the toothache - obviously!)

Complain. Honestly. I am definitely not one for saying rush to management but she will never stop doing it until someone pulls her up.

This really pisses me off. Reception staff get away with speaking to parents in a way teachers would never DREAM of. It is not acceptable.

If its any consolation, the sarcastic ones are just as rude to teachers as well. The office staff are IN CHARGE. Didn't you realise? Hmm
