Moving from the IB Primary Years Program to English curriculum

We are moving from Hong Kong to Oxfordshire in February next year.

My son is 9(P5) and has only ever been to school in Hong Kong. His school operate the IB Primary Years Program (PYP). Having seen the curriculum for English schools, it is very different to how he has been learning and I am very worried about the transition for him.

I would be very grateful if there is anyone out there who has had experience of changing from the PYP to UK curriculum and can give some advice on how we can make the transition easier for him!

Hi Jungle, I was looking for some info on IB curriculum vs. British and saw your question. What happened for your son in the end? I would have the reverse issue: a son in Year 5 who might be going to an IB school for Grade 5 (i.e. Year 6). Do you think there is benefit in staying within a consistent system throughout primary?
