Does anyone know - is it a TEN application that I will need to sell beer and wine at a school fundraising event with around 80 people?

I'm not sure, someone who knows more will probably be along in a mo but just wanted to say, many schools get around it by selling for example, a packet of crisps for £3 and get a free beer/wine.

I think you need to have someone on the committee or available on the evening who had undertaken the necessary training. I think you then also need to apply for a temporary events license for each event.

Check out the ncpta website as i think they cover some of this stuff on there.

Yes it is a TEN application you need from your local licensing department. You must apply for a licence they usually cost about £21 personally I would not take the risk for £21 (as the above is not a loophole - I have experience of something similar being done and a prosecution was taken out against the individuals in charge). The application is fairly straightforward we regularly apply for them allow you are limited to a certain number within a year.

Glad some more.informed.posters turned up! Ignore my post op and good luck with your fundraiser.

Yes, TEN application to your local council licensing officer. Straightforward. No training required. Be sure to display it at the bar on the night.

You need a TEN if alcohol is consumed, whether paid for or not, so even if the event included a free glass of wine, it would be necessary to get one.
