When to apply for reception?

That's it really. My ds is 1 in jan and I was wondering when do I apply. I'm looking at pre schools and have seen a lot of mums say get in quick, is it the same for reception?

No. Reception entries open the September before your son starts school and close the January of the year your son starts school. All applications are handled on e the deadline has passed, there's no advantage to applying early.

Thanks for that, so I apply sep 2016 for a sep 2017 entry, he will be 5 in jan 2018 :)
