My son has had fantastic reports in P1 and P2. But since starting P3 I have been spoken to by the teacher informing me he has been kicking and punching other kids. He said he has been provoked other kids have hit him first, he has just been the only one to get into trouble. I have a meeting with the teacher to discuss this further. What do I do if my son is to blame and hitting first. He has a behaviour chart for this, been grounded and had his ds taken from him already. help

If it's happening at school they need to primarily handle punishments.
What you can do at home is talk thru with him what happens, brainstorm together about what he could do instead of lashing out.

I think the other message to be clear about is even if someone else provoked or hit first he is still at fault. DS's at home know that if they react violently to something the other one has done they will be in trouble. It's very easy I think for DC's to misinterpret asking the "why did you do that" question as suggesting that there is a justification for violent behaviour, which of course there never is.
