Hi, we're moving to West Horsley in January 2014 and would love personal recommendations for primary schools to look at or avoid...! Our DS will be starting reception in SEptember 2014 and has been attending a Montessori pre school to date. Thanks so much.

Is anyone currently at St Lawrence Primary, Effingham or know anything about it? Thanks

The Raleigh would be the obvious choice from there - go and have a look and talk to some current parents (mine left some time ago and loved their time there). I would be surprised if you heard anything bad.

Hello - my daughter goes to St Lawrence in Effingham. When I moved to Surrey a year ago I couldnt get her into the local school so I chose St Lawrence over St Andrews In Cobham (both a 3/4 mile drive away). My daughter loves it. Its a lovely school. Very 'village-y'. There is a great "Friends" group (like a PTA I suppose) who do loads of great things and raise lots of money for the school. As its a small school all the kids seems to know everyone in all years. I eventually got offered a place in the local school but chose to keep my daugher at St Lawrence (despite the drive!) The school is at present striving 100% to raise its Ofstead rating.

..Thats a 3 to 4 mile drive away not three quarters of a mile!
