Prospect House - Putney

Can anyone comment on how academic Prospect House is in Putney?

Looking for an academic prep in SW London, that exits at 11, for a very academic child.

The Y6 leaver's offers/destinations last year covered pretty much everywhere you would expect/want.

It is non selective, but they do divide the classes up/stream for certain subjects.

It is a boy; most boys schools exit at 13, but we would be happy with co-ed.

I think over the last couple of years boys have gone on to Kings, Colet Court, Latymer Upper, Hampton, Kingston Grammar, Emmanuel, Reeds - that sort of thing.

I don't have a kid at Prospect House but certainly its reputation is not academia. A friend's kid, who is super smart, left Prospect House because she wasn't a good fit. Good luck.

You say your son is very academic. On that basis, I would consider Wimbledon Common Prep followed by Kings School in Wimbledon. My problem with Wimbledon Common Prep was it seemed a little too much of a hot house for me. Alternatively if you want to be in Putney for as long as possible, a pre-prep like Merlin followed by Kings or Colet Court.

Rokeby a good way to go if you don't want to do the 7+ but worth remembering that some of the clever ones will leave to go to the really academic schools at 7 even though Rokeby goes on to 13.

If your kid has a super cool brain, he will have the ability to move to an academic school whichever one of these choices you make IMO.
