Our son is only a baby but DH and I are considering where to move to and his schooling is a major factor in our decision.
We own a 2 bed house which we love and are seriously considering staying here snd extending it rather than buying anything new. However, I am not keen on our local primary school . It's definitely our closest (0.4 miles) but I don't want him to go there. There are 4 very good primaries nearish (0.6, 0.7, 1.2 and 1.9 miles respectively).
Does anyone have experience of applying for schools in Trowbridge? How much weight is put on how near you live to the school? If I could be sure he'd go to any of these 4 and not the one closest to us I would happily stay put. The admissions policy suggests location only matters a bit but as the school near us is big and my firstand second choice schools are small I worry he wouldn't get into any if my choices and be lumped in to the nearby one. Am I right to worry?
