Guildford, Surrey - Home to school transport

Hi,

This year my 10-year old daughter is going to Northmead Junior School. I live 1.7 miles from this school and I also have a 2-month baby. I know that I'm not eligible for the free home to school transport so I'm looking for alternatives.
Can anyone help me?

Is there not a safe walking route? Assume you don't/ can't drive! Cycling hard with a baby but 10yr old could cycle if safe cycle routes. Or scoot while you walk.
