New teacher - is it too soon to judge?

Having just met my DCs teacher this morning I feel a bit concerned. She is newly qualified, seems very nervous and fidgety and does not speak clearly. I know it is early days but I am just concerned that she does not seem to fill me confidence that she has control or will inspire this class. Is it too early to judge and how do you know if a new teacher will be any good?

I don't suppose you can tell, but I think how they are with parents and how they are with kids are not necessarily the same.

Am trying to convince myself of this having started with a distinctly bad impression of one of my DC's teachers (new to the school) teachers this year... in any case there isn't really anything either you or I can do about it so maybe join me in trying not to worry, and I shall cross my fingers for you that she is actually fab with the children and just not confident with parents?

It's just so hard not to worry and yes I am crossing fingers that she is fab with the children. I just worry that she is not the right teacher for this bunch of 10 year old pre teens.
