Hello mummy's, I'm about to apply for a primary school in Hackney & I was wondering if anyone could give me feedback on any school their children attend. I'm particularly interested in hearing about London fields & surrounding area (lauriston, London fields primary, St. John's of Jerusalem, St. John's & St. James, gayhurst & bergers)
Any feedback would be really appreciated.
Thanks mummys.

Dr, are you already living in Hackney? If so you can't possibly be in the catchment area for all of those schools. Easiest way to start is to contact the Learning Trust and ask them which schools you've got a good chance of getting a place in. Good luck!

This will give you some idea of the cut-off distances for Hackney schools. There will be an updated version of this included in the booklet for 2014 admissions, which should be published shortly.

I live near Lauriston, it's like a sea of Boden at 3.30pm and I'm pretty sure everyone works in the media. I'm not a fan, but people are practically killing each other to get their child a place there. I have friends whose children go there and they are very happy with it.

I was impressed with Seabright school, have heard very good things about London Fields, which is less laid-back than Lauriston and (I think) Gayhurst, but gets very good results. Not sure about the others. You could try posting in MN local?

For information on schools try using our local sites, where we have listings of local schools and MNs can add reviews and star-ratings to help other MNs out.
