DD starts reception next week and her class teacher will visit us at home the day before.

What should I expect from the visit e.g. what are they looking for and what should I tell them about my PFB?

Hi, my DS teacher did this too. Shr came with a Teaching assistant. They don't ask much of him, just more about him as a person. I think he played a game wire the TA and he wrote his name (only first letter) She didn't seem arsed about academic stuff more wanted to chat to him and me. He'll chat to anyone. I would tell your DD to be herself and if she wants to show the teacher something then that's fine.

we had this for school nursery. they seemed to want to see ds in his own/relaxed environment to see how he was. it gave the chance to privately discuss any concerns. it also meant that they had one to one time so were not strangers when ds arrived in their setting. i was slightly worried beforehand but convinced that it was a good idea afterwards.

We had one, they ignored ds & ds ignored them.
Not sure what it achieved for them or us. But all in all worth cancelling our holiday for Hmm

We had a home visit before DS3 started two years ago - the teacher wanted to check they had the correct details for him, and also asked if there were any issues they should be aware of, who they were friends with etc. It also gave them a chance to get to know the child 1:1 well 2:1 as the TA came too. I already knew both of them as the TA's daughter used to be DS1's best friend (when they were 5 - he's almost 20 now) and the teacher was a parent at the school before she was employed there and we'd been on the PTA together.
