I need to buy labels for my son's uniform (I'm new to all this, his first year at school and all that!)

anyone recommend any/ the best quality?

I'm not about to start sewing them all in so I guess iron on are the best?

thanks!

If you don't fancy ironing, and own straighteners for hair, they work a treat:)

We like snappytags - they're a button with the name etched in -they also do stickers for packed lunch boxes etc.

another link

This one was recommended to me (although I tend to Sharpie myself)

I've got snappy tags and the sticker ones. I don't do sewing, much like I don't do ironing.

Yup to stikins. Amazing.

Just got them in about 36 hours from wovenlabelsuk.com, perfect for disorganised people like me Grin. Wish I had seen the ones with rivets though.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 28/08/2013 16:47

I use these
www.attachatag.com/
because I am too lazy to sew stuff. We have an usual surname so I just have that on the tag and and it works for both children.

I also use a sharpie - my tip - I write the name in large letters on the pocket of their trousers (on the inside of the trousers IYSWIM) as its white and can be seen straight away when you look inside for a name.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 28/08/2013 16:48

gah unusual surname not usual

FoundAChopinLizt · 28/08/2013 16:53

I have 4dcs and even using a pen took me ages to name everything...I felt like I was doing my 'lines' as a penalty for too many children.

Also I just write first three letters of surname as I hand the clothes down to the next child. For jackets I put my phone number as they are most likely to be lost in public and away from school.

ketchupontoast · 28/08/2013 19:54

Make sure that the name is in a place which is easy to find. I have known parents find obscure places for the names to be written and it is often our fault if we don't find them! We should know to look in the hem of trousers ...how stupid of us!

Further to my previous message - I've just seen this review on the guardian website. www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2013/aug/27/buy-of-the-day

Hello,
I tried a new website which provides all kinds of labels for kids:
www.essmak.com
www.essmak.com/English/Category/Iron-on-Labels/39

They have iron-on clothing labels which are perfect for uniforms! (they are dryer & washing machine safe + they are very durable and can last for 6 months or more).

I highly recommend Essmak.

I second Stikins, love them and they can even be used on water bottles and lunch boxes, so easy Grin
