My daughter is 7 and each time she has to leave myself or her father she gets so anxious and upset its heartbreaking I've been strong and not backed down to her but nothing seems to be getting better.
Her school have been great and supportive but it's the same story whenever she is not with us, any ideas what I should do it would be very appreciated.

My littlest sister went through a stage like this, mum made her a tiny rabbit she kept in her pocket which was sprayed with mums perfume every so often as a comfort thing. She grew out of being upset at school pretty much over night when she stared year 3, but still hasn't grown out of getting anxious at new places or if there are new people (she's just starting year 5)

Thankyou for your kind advice, I will try something along those lines if it works as quick as it did with your sister I will be a very happy bunny.

ds2 did this for a while. we bought matching keyrings, he chose them....they had a fluffy animal on them and were identical. his was attached to his school bag and mine on my handbag. the deal was that if we missed each other we would give the animal a little hug, and we were always clear about when the fluffy creatures would be back together

also cjeck out attachmemt theory, Bowlby is a good one. might shed some light on it if you're interested in that sort of stuff
