Tutor Recommendation 7+ and 8+ exams

Dear all
Could anyone please recommend a good tutor with experience of winning places at Colet Court, Westminster Under, Sussex House, Wetherby etc. My DC are 6 and 7 yrs old and we have just moved to central London from Spain due to work commitments. I would rather not engage in any debate about the rights and wrongs of tutoring as I have seen example papers and recognise that my sons have absolutely no chance (due to the disparity between Spanish-English standards at their age) unless a patient, experienced and knowledgeable person gives them a helping hand. Academically they are top in their classes, bilingual and so on -but they have never sat such an array of papers.. ever. My DH and I were astounded. Any recommendations of qualified teachers welcome (and treated in strict confidence). We don't really want a 21 to 25 yr old fresh from University which the agencies are offering. Thank you xA

Dear OrangeDaffodil,

I have just read this thread and would be very interested in getting in touch with the tutor you mentioned to another mum - a tutor called Sarah. We live in Richmond and are looking for someone to help our son for 11 plus.

Can any one please suggest good 7 plus tutor. My DS will be sitting for kings entrance soon. Many thanks

Hi there. This is yet another person seeking Sarah's contact details. Can anyone help? It would be greatly appreciated, as we're currently looking at a number of agencies, whose value-add I question.

neverasparemoment · 29/01/2015 14:51

Hello, I wonder if anyone would be able to forward Sarah's contact details to me too.

We just tried the 7+ with our DS out for three schools unsuccessfully. He's currently at a really ordinary state school and is really bright mathematically (I'm a secondary school maths teacher) so we tried, rather naively, without a tutor, but it seems that everyone's doing it so I guess we'll have to too! Thanks

Hi can you please share tutor Sarah's contact details. Any other good tutors for ColeT Court and Kings College?

ttbn · 12/09/2017 22:19

Hi all,
I appreciate I am picking this up years on but if any of you have tried and tested the recommended tutors for 7+ for DS and are willing to share details I would be grateful.
Feeling very guilty for dismissing it as an option and now realise my kid is the only one without the extra support.
Thanks

Amna8 · 28/10/2018 16:57

My dd is in year 2 and is at the bottom of the class. I am a bit worried to be honest but don't know if i should be concerned? Does anyone think i should get her private tutoring?
I feel that the school/teachers should be responsible to get her up to speed and that i shouldn't have to pay for it. Do you think a lot of parents have private tutoring for their children at this age?
