School reports - when?

DD (Year 5) came home from school yesterday sans her report. Apparently they won't get them until the last day of term. I was really cross. No chance to respond or discuss if there is something unusual. No major problems as I saw her teacher on a regular basis but from past experience with other DCs there may be something small to query. Will be asking at the school office on Monday to verify.

Is it normal practice to wait until the last day of term?

Older DCs in secondary school had theirs at least 2 weeks before their last day at school.

It's certainly not good practice. But there is no statutory rule to say they can't. They have to give you a chance to respond, but the DfE has actually said that could be in September.

(Last time I posted this, a slightly dim poster extrapolated from this that my school sends out reports on the last day, despite my clear negativity on such a situation, so I shall point put again, just in case, that ours went home a clear two weeks before term ends.)

We are getting ours on Tuesday, last day of term is Wednesday. I thought we would get them yesterday - last Friday of school - as we have done in previous years.
