The HT of my ds's school proudly said they had achieved 20% L6, 75% L5 and the remainder L4.

I haven't seen any official figures, but was very surprised. It's a state primary.

it is high, but i guess the intake is very middle class and leafy suburbs. parents probably all fork out for private tuition and school sits back and basks in reflected glory Grin
was it a nice school?

How many in y6?

Very unusual compared to all state primaries but not unusual with right intake, iyswim.
I think nationally last year it was about 3% who got L6s in math, for instance. DD's school is very average.

Shootingstar79 · 12/07/2013 21:54

Size of cohort?

It is all about progress really so if the l5s achieved 3s in Y2 then it is expected progress. if the 5s were previously 2s then the school is doing really well.
If the 4s achieved L3s in Y2 then the progress is below expected so the aren't doing that well.

They could be doing brilliantly...or not. Not enough information.
