I stumbled upon this in a book catalogue and got it and its fab.

Dictionary

DS has loved looking up words in it. If you click on the link and then "Look inside" you will see how the words in it are organised.

Just thought I'd share it anyway.

Well done! I have 'bookmarked' it, ready to whip it out when I want to contribute to a MN phonics 'thread', which as a retired male TA with twenty years working in primary schools, I do fairly regularly.

Encourage other parents to look at it too. I wonder if schools will invest in it?

Be interesting to see mrz 's reaction to it . . .

Thanks

I've just bought another copy for our school actually.

Fingers crossed mrz won't tear it to pieces, so to speak!

I have been looking at this recently as a spelling aid for my daughter. I remember when we were at school we used to have a little notebook called a word book I think so when writing we would ask the teacher a word, she would write it in and we could then copy it and had it for future reference. I don't know if they still do this kind of thing in schools. We look up words in a children's dictionary when she is reading so she can find our what they mean but invariably the words aren't in there so I think we need to use a slightly older one for that.
