Hi, can any of you please give me any information on primary schools in Hammersmith? Is John Betts a good school? I'd really appreciate some information as we've just moved to the area. Thanks!

John Betts is a great small school - generally 1 class per year. The head mistress really values strong discipline .Over the last few years there has been an increase in music, after-school clubs and academically a lot of the kids do really well and gain places at a number of independent schools like St Paul's ,Latymer, Godolphin, Emmanuel..( though usually this involves a lot of parental involvement/ tutoring /Bond books etc) The downside is that whilst parents contribute wrt fundraising etc, the school is perhaps less open to parental suggestions or criticism. Considered quite tough to get into as sibling policy has resulted in up to 18 siblings in 1 year and only 12 new places!
Hope that helps..
