Addition and subtraction workbooks or websites

DD has been talking about addition and subtraction so can anyone recommend either fun websites or a series of colourful workbooks for her to have a go at?

She is 4.9 and starts reception in Sep so there is no pressure but I'd like to give her access to such materials as she has shown an interest and likes doing magazines and puzzles.

I like Autumn publishing's alphabet workbook and was thinking of trying their basic maths materials unless anyone can recommend anything else?

Hi MilestoneMum:

Oxford Owl now do an early maths skills site as well as reading here:

www.oxfordowl.co.uk/Maths/

which seems to be designed to help get started with maths and seems age appropriate.

Other than that good old fashioned games:

snakes & ladders (which is counting on to 100)

The other thing we did a lot of at that age was counting up addresses (odd or even side of road) on the way somewhere (to the park, to a friends, etc...).

Measuring: Have her help with cooking and get a sense of imperial (teaspoon, tablespoon, pint, etc...) & metric (100ml, 100 g, 2 L) measurements.

HTH

Thanks, Oxford Owl looks good and yes, snakes and ladders has been amazingly helpful.
