I need 7 monks cloaks for the Y6 play.

What I really really want GrinGrinis for someone to say they have them and will post them to me. (Will obv pay postage!!) (and send chocolate!)Wink

Or for someone to tell me how to make them as I do not sew much at all and do not have a sewing machine!!Confused

Any thoughts, ideas or spare monks habits at all??? SmileSmile

Poledra · 18/06/2013 14:06

Or black dye if they're Benedictines Grin

Ruprekt · 18/06/2013 14:13

I do have a couple of jedi cloaks, that to the uninitiated would look like monks cloaks, but they wouldn't fit year 6 as I made them for a 2 and 4 year old. Could you ask Yr6 if they have Jedi costumes - loads of kids in our school do.

Try your local youth theatre / am dram / panto society. They're helpful and bound to have a king's cloak and maybe something monkish - hessian sacks and rope did a lot of service back in the days when I did such stuff.

yy hooded dressing gowns.

get the cheap ones (cotton rather than fluffy) and dye them brown :)

Try your local Catholic Church and ask if you can borrow servers robes - likely to be cream but will look very authentic!!
