School uniform !

My ds is starting reception class in September and I have started to get his uniform ready however I have been to asda twice so far to exchange trousers! He is a chubby little guy and quite short but the 3-4 size is too tight around the waist but perfect length wise. I exchanged these for a 4-5 which are much too long and also too tight around the waist. Anyone know where they sell school trousers with a stretchy waist? Do asda? Couldn't have a proper look as was in a rush. Thanks

ASDAs are normally partially elasticated. However if this is not enough BHS is your friend. They do a 'generous fit' which gives a bit more room round the waist but stay the right length. They last really well too.

They do have the ones which alter at the waist at Asda.

Otherwise you might have to buy a bigger size and take them up. Some Dry Cleaning places offer an alteration service if you don't want to do this yourself. I've heard good things about Wonder Web but never used it myself.

I was going to say BHS. Otherwise, M & S do 'short' length trousers, so you could try a short length in a larger size, maybe age 5 or 6 'short.'

M&s do adjustable waist and a plus fit range too.
