Thats it really. Have a DD who is 7 and hates times tables. I may be a fogey but I believe that once you know them they are a bonus. We have an ipad which she enjoys.

My daughter has been using the Terry Murray musical soundtrack and it seems to be working.

TABLES FABLES - its the best ! Kids loved every minute of it. I was a sceptic at first as the kids came across and wasn’t sure whether it would work. I am a total believer now. The girls know all their times tables off by heart .Once you become familiar with all the characters then the animations just seem to stick in their heads. I wish we had this when we were kids as Times Tables just seemed the most boring thing in the world.

When I was a child we just learnt them by rote and then had lots of practice with problems such as £6 17s 9d x 7. It's a lot easier now with money and measurement being metric.
