I need some ideas for a story that would be a suitable starting point for a discussion about how different people all have different strengths and face different challenges.
I want to show how you can look at your strengths and use them to overcome your challenges, and show a really positive side to differences.
Any ideas?

Might be a bit basic for Y2, but ?If Big can ?I can? ? a story about a big bear and a little bear, who come to realise that they have different strengths, but they have the most fun when they work together.

See www.astorybeforebed.com/books/505-if-big-cani-can-by-beth-shoshan-and-petra-brown

sorry - I thought you were asking for ideas to get them to write their own stories, I really must read more carefully.

Harry and Willy and Carrothead by Judith Caseley (on amazon.co.uk)

Harry is born with no left hand. Willy teases Oscar (carrothead) who has red hair. Harry sticks up for him. Oscar is the bestwriter in the class. They all end up friends - gist is everyone is different and we are all good at different things.
