7+ KCs wimbledon entrance exams

could someone recommend a good tutor for the 7+ KCs entrance exams? My son studies in a stated school, we teach him ourselves at home, but think we need someone to help with the exam skills or perhaps English part of the test as neither my husband nor myself is a native English speaker. I am currently using the Bond English Assessment Paper, could someone tell me what is tested in the English paper in KCs? Is it the same format as the Bond Paper or just a story writing exercise? Many thanks for your advice in advance.

Hi if you go onto the KCS website you can see an example English and maths for 7plus and this will answer your query. The English paper is quite demanding for a seven year old and they need to have a good handle on comprehension and be able to write a story in three paragraphs with speech marks and show they can use interesting words and use basic punctuation. If you are doing the exam from the state sector you do need a tutor as the curriculum will not have covered what is tested. They need to be at KS1 level three by Early Jan year two in both maths and English. If you look on mumsnet local you will be able to find a tutor or try and get one by word of mouth. Remember that you will be competing with many children from pre-preps taking this exam who are also being tutored but don't let that put you off as KCJS do take children from all sectors as they are looking for bright and interested children who are all-rounders.
