What do you do when you move?

Hi - someone's just put an offer in on our house, and the people at the house we'd like have accepted our offer. Does anybody know what I should do in terms of moving my children . . . do I go and look at schools . . . when do I apply etc etc?
I'm in a head spin! I thought it would take ages. Would be for a september start at the earliest and possibly October half term.
Thanks!

Look and visit now!! Summer hols are only a few weeks away, so decision will need to have been made by mid-July for September start.
If start has to be deferred until half-term, then you can let the school know about the delay in the move......and at least you won't be having to worry about choosing a school in the mad last fortnight of packing and unpacking.

Thank you for that. Does that mean I can apply now - even with no evidence that we are moving?

The offer has been accepted, I believe that if you have that in writing from the estate agents (or soiicitor) then you may be able to move forward, but a quick call to any school you fancy in the chosen area will soon tell you if they will accept that, or if you have to wait until you have exchanged contracts.
