Hi,

We have recently moved to Walthamstow and my 4yr old daughter is due to start school this September. But because we are applying past the application deadlines for schools the council said the only school with spaces available is the Woodside Primary School.has anyone had any experience of this school? I'd so appreciate anyones thoughts on it, as having read it's been failed by ofsted I'm a bit worried!

Thanks

The school has just got a new headteacher- he only started on Monday. He is very experienced and has a clear vision for improving the school. I think there will be a lot of changes in the next year or so.

Also remember that Ofsted doesn't show the full picture- the atmosphere and feel of the school counts for a lot in my opinion. I would strongly advise you to contact the school and ask to look around- see how it feels to you.

FWIW, I would be happy to send my children to Woodside.

Thanks for this. I'm always a bit suspicious of Ofsted's-as-gospel so it's great to hear from someone who know's about the school. Thanks!

Hi @lucydocs, do you have any thoughts to share? Did you end up sending your child to Woodside in the end?

Yes I'm interested in outcome. I am moving to the area and undecided as to whether to send son to smaller school such as the church of England or woodside. Of anyone has any recent updates of experience with these schools would be great to know. Thanks
