Have seen on here a couple of excellent resources mentioned for learning times tables.

Naturally, I forgot to bookmark them.

DS is in reception and they're just starting to talk about them (terrifying, as I learnt the 2x table by rote in y4/5 so I was hoping to start exposing him to some of them - I think I've seen songs/videos mentioned?

If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful!

Various free times tables resources on-line I've found along the way include:

Woodlands Junior school Maths Zone: resources.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/maths/timestable/index.html - select division for inverse multiplication & then short (old fashioned long division) practice.

Mumsnet has a nice multiplication grid practice here: www.mumsnet.com/learning/maths/interactive-times-tables-activity

There maths champ link doesn't seem to be working at the moment - but if it revives - go through Education - Learning - Free home resources. Times table practice games ages 7 - 9 and 9 - 11.

Table trees is a lovely means of practicing individual times tables: www.amblesideprimary.com/ambleweb/mentalmaths/tabletrees.html - quite calm and relaxed.

If you need more pizzazz (for which read a bit of stress/ time pressure) try out Timez Attack - it's a video game based on dungeon and dragons format. You're basically a little ogre (boy or girl) running about solving multiplication problems. They review it as multiple additions and then recap what you've learned as a vertical multiplication problem. The free version has two platforms or you can pay for more. We found the free version was more than enough. Link here: www.bigbrainz.com/. They have a division version as well for inverse multiplication facts, which was also good fun.
