Hi I am new to UK and a first time mum. Live in wimbledon. Would love to get info on primary school education here and which are best/top rated schools in Wimbledon. Thanks

Where a outs roughly do you live. State school wise it is a difficult area with very small catchment areas for good schools. Quite a lot of people are pushed private because of this.

For boys or girls? What age? What do you want out of the school?

There are Wimbledon mums here - if you can be more specific we may well be able to help.

Also have a look at the local talk board - loads of good info there.

Look at merton.gov.uk/schools for a list of state primary schools. You can find league tables on the BBC education website and Ofsted reports on the Ofsted website.

As wobblypig said, catchment areas are small so you'll be limited as to which schools your child could actually get into. It's not a matter of 'choosing' the best one.

You may be able to get in from further away if it's a church school and you are a very regular church-goer.
