I'm interested in the goals and levels for YR/ Y1.

I can only find wooly top line stuff. Really i'm looking for more detail, if it's out there. Everything that i have found is super basic stuff like can sound out letters, count to ten. I'm sure that i'm just looking in the wrong place....

Would any of you lovely ladies be able to do me a linky please.

For YR try searching 'EYFS handbook'. (On my phone so can't link easily). The early learning goals are in there- they set out what children should be able to do in each of the 17 areas for the foundation stage.

By Y1 children should (mostly) be moving on to national curriculum levels, so they should be around a 1b by the end of Y1. These levels are assessed using APP (assessing pupil progress) which is fairly complex if you're not used to using it. But again, you could search for 'app grid writing level 1'. This will show you some rough expectations.

Results and achievements in infants could have far more to do with the child's character and the attitudes of her teacher than anything to do with the learning goals.

Hi Khaleese:

Part of the problem with national curriculum right now is it is all set to change in 2014. Link to draft curriculum and what should be covered here: www.education.gov.uk/schools/teachingandlearning/curriculum/nationalcurriculum2014/b00220600/consultation-national-curriculum-pos/draft-pos-subjects

just select area of curriculum on right for KS1 (Y1).

I'm afraid my link of EYFS stages has disappeared but Hertfordshire has something similar here: www.thegrid.org.uk/learning/foundation/resources/documents/ecat_child_progress_monitoring_sheet.doc

Finally - if you want to see the gold standard of what should be covered by year - visit Campaign for Real Education's primary curriculum site here: www.cre.org.uk/primary_contents.html - just select area of curriculum. [HEALTH WARNING - this is gold standard stuff and it is highly likely your school is not working to this - but you get an idea of what should be covered in an ideal world].
