Hi,my ds had a phonic sats test yesterday. How many questions would there have been? 20, 30 or 40? It is very low key at his school and no pressure, which is great and very very relaxed. He told me he got 17 right, so I was just wondering what it was out of. Thanks

There is no such thing as a Year 2 phonics SATs ...
The phonics screening check is on the 17th June for Y1 children and those Y2 children who didn't score 32 or above last year.

The official phonics check will take place in June (and children don't need to know that they are being tested) but similar activities may be taking place at any time.

Are you sure it wasn't the year 2 sats? Dd is year 2 and sat her sats spelling yesterday - they had to spell words and we told to use their phonics if unsure? Ours are doing sats in year 2 all this week

Actually it may be a mock given the teacher has given them the score! Ours have been doing mocks over the previous weeks
