Hi does anyone have recent experience of this program ? Dd at 6.6 is on a 12 week program in year 1. Obviously I will ask school for more info as Dd will not comment on it at all! Although she is improving slowly, I just want her to read and write without it being such a struggle.

I remember one of mine doing it many years ago and it seemed to be useful. She was a bit behind in Year 1 & the beginning of year 2, but had really taken off by the end of year 2.

It's old and not particularly effective. She'd be better with a straightforward phonics programme which systematically worked through the gaps in her phonic knowledge, offered lots of overlearning and gave her intensive practice in reading and writing.
