North Bridge House or Devonshire House NW3?

Trying to decide between these two for reception entry for DS. Up till now would have said I preferred NBH, but have heard less positive things recently. Would be grateful for any thoughts. Thanks.

I have a friend with DDs at North bridge house and she is very happy with the education etc.
I know the DDs' friends and they look like well adjusted children.

The results are good and they are making a push on the senior school (I read in the ham and high that they just appointed a new head of senior school).

Where do you want your de to go after NBH?

I have a DD leaving NBH this year. We've been very, very happy with it. It did have a hiccup this year with the head of prep overseeing the Senior School too but all that is over as they've appointed a head of Seniors and Mr Bibby can get back to focusing on the Prep. CE results suffered a bit this year as a result.
I think that the quality of teaching has been fantastic. DD has been treated with such kindness (she arrived from another school in a bit of a state!). It's a lovely, scruffy sort of school with unpretentious parents. The DCs do really well when they leave and are a confident bunch.
Negatives- the food isn't fab but they know this and are working on it. That's about it.
Positives- fantastic music, very kind teachers, high standards, non-snobby.

Thank you both, that is v helpful. Emanuela, I would be happy with any of the schools the boys seem to go on to. Will have to see how his interests develop.

we had our children at NBH until 2009 when we removed them because the prep was increasingly seen as the disorganized arm of the now Cognita operation. If your child is reception age you should also be made aware that the excellent and long serving head of the Junior school is leaving and that the acting head of the prep has also resigned. If your focus is solely on getting into a good senior school they will still do that if your child is able but the attentive pastoral care of a decade ago is no more.
